Our Policies

Therapy Sessions

Therapy sessions are 60 minutes long. They take place online using a secure platform. Sessions typically happen once per week. You and your therapist have the option to meet more or less frequently, depending on what makes sense for you. The time scheduled for your session is held for you and will not be given away.

Technological Troubles

Full Focus Therapy provides services virtually. We know and expect that there will be troubles with technology. If our internet connection wavers or is lost, please exit the program, wait a moment, and then try and reconnect.

Cancellation

Please provide as much advance notice as possible if you need to cancel your session. If you miss an appointment without giving 24 hours notice you will be charged the full fee for that appointment. In the event of sickness or emergency you will not be charged the fee.

Late Attendance

Again, please provide as much notice as possible if you are going to be late. That hour will be held for you and you are going to be charged the full fee for that hour. Even if you miss the first 15 or 30 minutes, you are still welcome to attend late and make use of the time remaining.

Privacy

Interruptions from the outside world are part of offering therapy services online. In order to minimize distractions, be mindful in choosing a location to have your therapy sessions where you are alone and can expect privacy.

Confidentiality

Protecting confidentiality is one of the most important parts of the relationship between therapist and client. You can trust that your information and your sessions will stay private and secure. You can expect that if your therapist needs to share any information with other individuals you will be told about it. Legally, the only circumstances where confidentiality could be broken is if a client is threatening serious bodily harm to themselves or another person, or if there is evidence of a child being hurt.

Emergencies

Making a plan for what to do in emergency scenarios is a part of the intake process you complete at the beginning of therapy. If you need immediate medical care or there is an urgent risk to your physical wellbeing, end the session or phone call immediately and head to an emergency room or reach out to someone who can provide care at your location. See the FAQ page for potential resources.

No Surprise Billing

We are fully transparent in the billing process and you will know what to expect. Federal law requires that you will not experience any hidden fees or unexpected charges. We are up front in our communication around billing.

Good Faith Estimate

The total number of therapy sessions that are appropriate for you will vary widely depending on your goals for treatment. Your total cost for therapy depends on the number and type of therapy sessions you receive, which will depend on your individual needs and your treatment plan. Federal law requires that health care providers give a “Good Faith Estimate” of what the charges could be for receiving therapy services. It is not a legally binding document. You are not required to attend the estimated number of sessions and it is not a contract.

Social Media

Full Focus Therapy does have a presence on social media and you are welcome to follow those pages. It is not expected or required that you do so. Communication over social media cannot be guaranteed to be kept private and so we ask that if you need to contact your therapist please use their phone number or email. If you do find a personal page for your therapist please do not ask to follow them or contact them on those platforms, in order to keep your information secure and to respect their privacy.
